How to properly size your solar water pump system:
Depending on your type of application; which can be for agriculture or livestock, irrigation, dewatering, domestic, commercial and more. This will help determine your demand. Each application is unique and comes with individual specs.
What you need to know:
-Geographical location where your solar panels will be. This will help determine what the average PV sun exposure is in your area.
-Water demand
If you are unsure of how much water you will be needing for your livestock, home or other applications, please contact us for assistance.
-Diameter of well casing (ID)
If you are pumping from a pond or river bed this will not apply to you. Many well casings range in diameter, and in order to use a submersible solar water pump we must be sure it will properly fit down your well. Our solar pumps require a 4” or larger well casing size.
-Depth to the top of the water level:
What is Static Water Level? Static water level refers to the level of water in a well under normal, undisturbed, no-pumping conditions. Static water level is best determined when the well has not been pumped for several hours prior to measuring. You may get a false reading if the well was pumped just before the static water level is measured. How is Static Water Level Measured? There are several ways to measure the static water level including: an electric sounder or electric depth gauge, wetted tape or an air line
Dynamic Water Level
-Depth to the bottom of the well.
-Well rating or Recharge rate for your well in GPM. This is important to know when pumping a large water demand.
-Added lift to your storage tank: This will add more pressure to your total lift.
-If you plan to use pipeline above ground you will need to add any additional elevation throughout the pipeline. Also the type of pipeline (length, size, and material type) will help determine any absorption rate when transporting your water.
-Pressure requirements, if you plan to use a pressure system for a home or cabin this will add to your total lift.
